Inspire – Street dance performances
A huge well done to our Tozer Street-dance crew for their commitment and success at the Palace Theatre, Mansfield last week. Our performance was very well received and the students not only got to perform with a live band & singer, but opened the show both nights with lots of great feedback from the organisers of the show on how well they all danced.
Appreciation & thanks also go to parents who gave their time to watch and/or transport the students back and forth to Mansfield.
Royal Theatre GCSE Dance students outing this Thursday
All students to meet Miss Haynes in the foyer of the Theatre Royal in Nottingham at 7pm. Parents to collect from there afterwards when the show ends at 9.50pm.Those sharing lifts must notify Miss Haynes before Thursday please.
Saturday Select Vocal Group
This will begin this Saturday and below is an outline of the intention behind developing this group. Those Students who have expressed an interest will be contacted individually for confirmation.

Saturday Vocal Select Group
My vision for the select group is to provide a small number of advanced students a tailor made class that both caters to their talents and pushes them further than can be achieved in their regular weekly classes.(Eligibility for the Saturday group is based on regular attendance at the Tuesday Group classes).Students must be willing to sing solo and be able to harmonise. We will work on solos, duets, trios and ensembles from a wide range of musical genres, therefore this will be a much faster paced class. You will be expected to learn and work on material outside of the class every week.
My short term aim is to solidify a group that works well together both dynamically and vocally. My medium to long term goals include providing unique performance opportunities both within and outside the school, and, ultimately to compete in local competitions as and when appropriate.
So that a range of opportunities can be provided for each individual student I am keen to keep numbers low. I’m looking for between 2 and 9 people. With this in mind, commitment is a key aspect to the success of the group.
Modern & Tap exams Monday 5th March
For those students involved in the vocational exams next Monday, please make sure you arrive at least one hour before your exam time slot and you have all the necessary uniform.
