Information about classes resuming in August – and 121 lessons ending on 24 July

Thank you to everyone who replied to our Parental survey, it was lovely to have so many positive responses to reopening the school.

We are thrilled about the government allowing dance schools to open and we are busy formulating a workable timetable for throughout August to offer classes for our wonderful students who from the feedback we have had can’t wait to be back dancing in the studios.

Our intention is to prepare the studios and classes to begin on Monday 3rd August. Therefore the 1-2-1 sessions will suspend after lessons on Friday 24th July.

For the school to open on the 3rd August we will be preparing, cleaning and making sure all measures are in place and this will take place from 25th July -3rd August. There will be no 1-2-1 lessons during this short break, apart from the Zoom group vocal and private vocal online.

We have carried out a stringent risk assessment in order to reopen following government guidelines and those advised through our governing and examining bodies.

This will be posted very soon on our website to view along with other school policies. With everyone being careful and following the guidelines we should be able to successfully hold small classes and begin to restore some actual live well needed performing arts into our daily lives again. Lockdown has certainly made us appreciate what we once took for granted and now we need to pull together to rebuild a safe and happy school again.

For those who are unable to attend during August we will look forward to welcoming you back in the new term in September.

We will close the school at the end of August before the bank holiday and re-open after the children have returned to main stream school and know that all is safe to do so. More details on the new term in September will be announced at a later date.

Please look out for the August timetable this week and a booking form for classes for everyone to submit back to us so we can finalise how many students will be attending through August and what lessons will be viable enough to go ahead.

We are able to hold ISTD Modern and Tap exams from the 1st September, so we are keen to hold a safe session as soon as possible in the new term. (Our May session was cancelled due to Covid-19) Some Modern/Tap classes in August timetable will be exam coaching in readiness for the exam session.

We look forward to seeing as many of our students as possible returning next month.

Stay safe and thank you for your continued support.
