Important update following the government’s announcement on Saturday

Our full timetable will resume today with all face to face classes until Thursday, however following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Saturday, sadly we have no choice but to close the school for a month and in order to continue our training we will revert to online teaching via Zoom application. We have been planning for this process and from Friday we will be keeping lessons as normal as possible for our students online until lockdown is over.

Full details will be sent out in the next few days so you can be set up for Friday and beyond for classes at home. The timetable will operate as it is now with small adjustments if necessary.

In these uncertain times it is even more important we protect those things that help us to thrive in all capacities.

Dance and performing arts is where children learn creative thinking skills, value of discipline, commitment and work ethic. Self-confidence develops and mastering new goals becomes achievable. Amongst other aspects, dance, drama and singing teaches us about music, rhythm and artistry, students also have a better understanding of spatial relationships and to access both sides of their brain. All these skills enhance a child’s academic performance as well as their mental and physical wellbeing. It is up to us to continue this during challenging periods of our lives as well as during the good times.

Please do encourage and help your child to have access to our digital classes and keep up the fun as well as all things mentioned above going for our talented students. Tozer Studios must and will survive if we all pull together and support!

Group Vocal classes

We welcome Ben Cahn back after paternal leave to run our digital group vocal classes in time to prepare for a Christmas video presentation whereby we can enjoy the work the students will be doing over the next 6 weeks and have some festive enjoyment! We encourage your child to try our fun sessions and we welcome any new students who enjoy singing and wish to join.

All those who normally take group vocal lessons will remain in the groups as before the first lockdown, if you are unsure please get in touch.

Please can you send short email to let us know if you wish to join us for Zoom vocals so we have an idea of numbers for each group and viability?

• 6 – 6.45pm Junior B/Inter A
• 6.45 – 7.15pm Junior A
• 7.15 – 8.15pm Inter B/Senior

Zoom invite links will be sent out in a separate email.

Music Theatre examinations
Unfortunately the exams will not go ahead on the 22 November as planned, but we are looking at rescheduling for another date so the students can achieve the recognition they deserve from their ongoing work.

We look forward to seeing the students in person this week at the studios with all Covid-19 safety measures in place.

Stay well and safe.
