Weekly news update and next week’s timetable – 22 April

I hope you have had a great Easter break and enjoyed with the fine weather!

One more week to go before the show!
The excitement this week in the studios was very encouraging and the students are really stepping up in readiness for the theatre, so congrats to everyone this week!
Next week rehearsals will be on Mondsay, Tuesday and Wednesday after school.
Thursday and Friday there will be NO rehearsals so everyone can prepare everything for the arrival at the theatre.
Make sure all costumes and accessories are named, practice make-up and hair etc.

The Timetable for next week is as follows:

MONDAY 25th April

4.30-5.30 – ‘About Alice’ – Grade 1-4 Ballet
5.30-6.00 – ‘My Future Husband (Lucy, Hetty, Holly, Peter Gaylard, Lucas Stewart and Max Huson)
6.00-6.30 – Riverdance and Hollywood Wiz
6.30-7.00 – Water Lilies
7.00-7.30 – Origins
7.30-9.00 – Running all Senior numbers – West Side Story, Kill em with Kindness, Actions speak louder, A New World, Beautiful trio, Finale opening (seniors)

TUESDAY 26th April

5.00-5.30 – Freckle Face – those who have dialogue (all those in Radio Mics)
5.30-7.00 – All Junior, Inter and Senior Vocal Groups – Freckle Face and Epiphany
7.00- 8.15 – Journey to the Past

WEDNESDAY 27th April

4.00 – Junior Limbering
4.30 – Junior Jazz
4.45 – Junior and Inter Jazz show number ‘Living in a Digital world’
5.15 – Juniors break
5.30-6.00 – Junior Vocal Class (Studio 2)
5.15 – Inter A and B Limbering/Pilates/Stretching- all Inter Jazz students recommended to do
6.00 – ‘Lost One’-Street class and LEVELZ – Street crew

As this was missed off in last week’s email we would like to give a huge congratulations to one of our senior students and Saturday teaching assistant, Katherine Butcher for her appearance in Gaz and Jazmine’s XZIBIT Young Creatives in Nottingham.
Katherine has been fully committed to our show rehearsals as well as XZIBIT and year 12 A level study since January.
Well done Katherine – from the age of 3 she has been a real Tozer girl!

IMPORTANT PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF ALL DETAILS BELOW

TECHNICAL REHEARSAL IN COSTUME
SATURDAY 30th APRIL AT THE THEATRE NOT THE STUDIO
2 SHOWS ON SUNDAY 1ST MAY- 2.30pm and 6pm

SATURDAY 30th APRIL
Arrival at theatre:

EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE SIGNED IN ON ARRIVAL AND OUT WHEN LEAVING.
NO CHILD IS TO LEAVE THE BUILDING WITHOUT A CHAPERONE OR HELPER WHEN HANDING OVER TO PARENTS.

8.50am: All staff, Backstage helpers, Chaperones + all students (except Pre-school Ballet) to arrive at stage door

9.00am: Theatre open for get in.
Please arrive and depart from the stage door (enter through the Museum entrance at the top of Leeming Street which is to the side of the theatre entrance)
Come dressed in a Ballet or Mod/tap leotard and Ballet tights or dance tights with your Tozer Hoodie and Tozer Joggers over the top
Please have hair done before arrival in a very slick middle or side parting low bun.

NO make-up needed on Saturday

All students will be advised on arrival which rooms to dress in and will be assisted by chaperones and parent helpers

9.40am – Health and safety briefing on stage – ‘WEST SIDE STORY’ STUDENTS IN COSTUME
Everyone required except Pre-school Ballet children.

10.00am -Technical rehearsal begins IN COSTUME, NO MAKE UP REQUIRED
10.15am Pre-school Ballet children arrive at stage door
Tech rehearsal finishes approximately 6.30-7pm
Pre-school Ballet children only will be finished rehearsing at around 11.30am so please collect from the stage door at 11.45am.
Children in ‘Zip-a dee-doo-dah’ (Primary Modern) will be required until 1pm so please collect from the stage door at 1.15pm
If you have siblings across age groups to collect please talk to Mrs. Lynn
All other students will remain at the theatre all day until the technical rehearsal has finished.
Please be patient at the stage door area as all children will be signed in and must be signed out too on leaving.
The stage door will be locked after all students arrive, communication after this will have to be done through the front of house team at the theatre.
Tozer staff will be contactable throughout the day through the Duty Manager/Front of house staff

Any nominated family members who are collecting children other than parents across the weekend must make sure that this information has been passed onto Mrs. Lynn in writing prior to collection.
We cannot let any child go unless we have this knowledge beforehand.
(In case of emergencies, please message as soon as possible)

NO parents are allowed backstage unless they are a named helper or chaperone or into the auditorium during Tech rehearsals.

Bring ALL costumes which should arrive on hangers – every item named.
Please bring a plastic garden bucket with name on for shoes etc. and to use for quick changes back stage.
Students who will be wearing radio mics need to be suitably dressed backstage i.e. nude coloured leotard and black hot pants over the top for the mic fittings and quick changes backstage.

DRESSING ROOMS
Pre-school, Pre-primary, Primary Ballet children will be in the Rehearsal Room upstairs.
Junior/Inter A students will be in the Meeting Place.
All other students will be in the numbered dressing rooms.

CHAPERONES /PARENT HELPERS-Essential help!
Many thanks for volunteering!
Please wear all black (Tozer logo t-shirt is preferable with black bottoms/trousers etc., black shoes to trainers) you will be allocated a lanyard on arrival for identity purposes.
Licensed chaperones please have your ID card with you.

CHECKLIST-(PLEASE NAME EVERYTHING)
Bring and leave in dressing rooms-
– All costumes, shoes, tights, socks, gloves, hats, personal props if needed
– All Make-up requirements, tissues, make-up wipes (NO make-up needed for Pre-school and Pre-primary pupils for tech rehearsal or shows)
– Hair equipment-Gel, Hairspray, Elastics, Hairpins, Grips, Hairnets, Brush and Comb, Water spray
– Dressing gowns to wear for eating and in between rehearsals/shows
– Plenty of packed food (lunch and tea) sugary snacks kept to a minimum please
– ONLY water allowed. NO fizzy drinks!
– All food and drink to be packed away from costumes
– NO nail varnish or any jewellery including earrings/piercings – please leave at home as these can get lost.
– Small games/cards//books/colouring books/pencils (not glitter or felt tip pens) are encouraged for entertainment on Saturday.

NO PHONES OR IPADS TO BE BROUGHT TO THE THEATRE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN.
CHAPERONES MAY BRING AN IPAD FOR A MOVIE DURING TECH REHEARSAL IF REQUIRED.
INTER and SENIOR STUDENTS (SECONDARY SCHOOL AGE) WILL BE ALLOWED THEIR PHONES IN THE DRESSING ROOMS, BUT WILL BE ASKED TO TURN THEM OFF DURING REHEARSALS AND SHOWS.

NO PHOTOS TO BE TAKEN UNLESS PERMISSION GRANTED
ANY ABUSING OF ANY RULES WILL END UP WITH PHONES BEING REMOVED.

Please ensure performers get an early night on the Friday as Saturday is a very long day.
IF YOU SUSPECT YOU HAVE COVID OR HAVE TESTED POSITIVE PLEASE STAY AT HOME and INFORM US IMMEDIATELY ([email protected])

SUNDAY 1st MAY

All performers (except Pre-school) need to be at the theatre promptly at 1.15pm on Sun-day 1st May for a 1.30pm get in with hair/make-up done and ready beforehand.
Please arrive in Tozer Hoodie and Joggers.
The half hour call at 1.55pm will be a full company warm up on stage so everyone needs to be ready for then.

Pre-school Ballet children:
To arrive at 2.00pm at stage door and need to be collected at 3pm.
This is not the interval of the show, so if you need us to keep your child until the interval please let us know.
They then need to return to the stage door for 5.30pm for 2nd performance and collected at 6.30pm
If you are watching either show please make arrangements for your child to be collected by another member of the family.
A purchased ticket will be required for any pre-school child to watch the remainder of either show (after they have performed their number)

All other students remain at the theatre from 1.30pm until end of 2nd performance which finishes at approximately 9pm

DVD OF SHOW and PHOTOS
The show will be filmed on both performances and order forms will be available at the studio to take away and fill in.
Payment must be made at the time of ordering to secure your copy.
Details will be on the order form. Sorry no orders without payment.
The children get endless pleasure from watching their show again and again.NO cameras or filming is allowed in the theatre.
All the very impressive rehearsal photos will be available to purchase after the show, look out of details.
