Dates and Updates

We have had an exciting return to the studios and it’s been a pleasure to see everyone enjoying their live face to face lessons with enthusiasm. Thank you for remembering to bring face masks and Covid precautions are being adhered to on the whole.
 
Bank Holiday Monday – 3rd May
 
The school will be closed for this coming Bank holiday Mondays so no dance or private vocal lessons. 
 
Exam dates and updates
 
We have a very busy term ahead with exams and the Leaver’s showcase to prepare for.
Here are some updates to fill you in on, please add to your diaries!
 
– One day of Ballet exams – week beginning 14th June (actual date yet to be confirmed as soon as possible)
– One day of Modern and Tap exams – Friday 2nd July (confirmed)
– Another day of Modern and Tap exams yet to be confirmed from ISTD HQ on Thursday 22nd July 
 
All those students selected for exam will be notified soon with consent forms sent out to be filled in and returned.
 
Please note our exam policy as always is to only invite students for examinations who know the syllabus confidently enough through independent practise as well as studio learning, who have reached the required standard for the session for a positive result and with attending the extra exam coaching lessons.
 
Exams are not compulsory.
 
Exam coaching lessons for Ballet will start soon and will be advised on the consent forms.
Modern and tap exam coaching will begin on Thursday’s after half term.
 
Half-term dates:
 
– Half term begins – after classes on Friday 28th May 2021
– Classes resume Monday 7th June 2021
– End of term will be after the showcase on 18th July 2021 (except those required for exam work preparation for the 22nd July date) 
 
Note:
We will be offering Private lessons during the Summer break for anyone wishing to continue their training in readiness for September examinations or want to improve with the input of 1-2-1 lessons. More details of availability for these lessons will be updated towards the end of term.
 
Leaver’s showcase 17th and 18th July 

Grade 3 students and upwards are involved with the showcase along with all vocal and street dance groups. 
Please advise asap if you cannot be included as work is under way for this and changing choreography/vocals is not something that can be redone at short notice.
 
Reminder of Safety on the Lane and Car Park
 
Please make sure you and your families remain safe by keeping to the speed limit on Hockerwood Lane.
Children to be dropped off in the Car Park and not on the road outside the Farmhouse.
We have children up and down from the studios so please look out for children and drive slowly when leaving the Car Park.
Our priority is to keep everyone safe.
